Windows 10: Why do my display settings change when I open a game?

I find my display looks better when the contrast and brightness are turned up pretty high. Without my tuning, the blacks in the screen look grey and get those blocky artifacts. I shut down my PC when not in use. When it turns back on, I have to right-click and open the display settings, and then Windows will remember what I had set. But until I open the settings, it's all whitewashed and far too bright. When I open a game, the settings seem to revert to the same whitewashed quality, and I don't know how to fix it other than manually changing my TV's display settings every time I play a game. A

I suggest you to Change settings that may block installation

There are advanced language settings that may block the download of language packs. To revert these settings to their defaults values so that you can download language packs, follow these steps:

  Tap or click Clock, Language and Region. (If you are viewing Control Panel in icon display, select
  Language, and then go to step 4.)

  Examine the Override for Windows display language and
  Override for default input method lists. Make sure that the
  Use language list (recommended) option is selected for both lists

Changing certain settings on your computer may resolve the issue. Let's try change some display settings using the Settings app. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings.
  
• Select System.
• Select Display in the left pane.
• Select the monitor you want to make as the main display.
  
• Click the box for Make this my main display.
