Windows 10: Why do my notepad/txt docs keep closing automatically when my laptop goes into sleep?

Hi, every time after I 'wake' my computer from its sleep - whether I put it in sleep mode or when it locks automatically after a certain amount of time - I find my open notepad documents have been closed. This didn't use to be an issue previously. I have no idea what happened and no clue about how to stop it. Please help. Thank you.

You can simply convert .txt file to a word file by simply using a .doc as an extension. Follow these steps:

• Open file using Notepad.
• Click File.
• Hit Save as, then rename the file. (Make sure to use .doc or .docx as an extension)
• Click Save.

Computer goes to Sleep mode automatically

Laptop goes to sleep when the LID is closed while playing the game.
