Windows 10: Why do some USB BT dongles that do work, but fail to identify as BT in Windows 10 Device...

I have a no-name BT5 dongle which I purchased from a online site in the Philippines.

I use it to connect to a BT5.0 headset. It works, though I have to 'pair it' every time I turn on the computer.

PC Settings knows I have BT services running but it doesn't display any way to access BT services. The tray also is devoid of a BT icon and the Device Manager does not display a BT device.

Clearly, some BT dongles do not 'register' with Win 10 in a way that all BT functions and services become available.Is there any activity at Microsoft to address this?

BT EDR DONGLE Driver Error

I have a 10-year-old Hitachi Starboard Tablet that works fine on my Dell desktop (running Windows 10) but when I plug the BTU02H-G dongle into my Dell Laptop (also running on Windows 10), the Settings screen for "Bluetooth & other devices" on my laptop lists "BT EDR Dongle Driver Error" and the tablet is not discoverable.
How do I update the driver for my laptop or correct the driver error?

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Let me help you to fix the issue.

To assist you better, I would like to know what is the model number of the BT dongle?

Let’s try uninstalling and reinstalling the dongle driver and check if that helps. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Click on Universal Serial Bus to expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the dongle device and select uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver restart the computer and try reconnecting the dongle again.
  

To buy new BT dongle, it would be best if you contact BTcare they would be best to help you with the dongle which is best for Windows 10.

How to get Creative BT-W2 dongle to work in Windows 10?

I am having Lenovo V520s desktop PC, which does not have Bluetooth nor WiFi radios.

I bought Creative BT-W2 bluetooth USB dongle, but I am not getting to work it.

I did not get any errors when inserting dongle, but driver installation goes somehow wrong.

In my understanding, this bluetooth dongle does not have own drivers, but is supposed to use Microsoft BT drivers / stack.

Note: My Windows is Finnish version:





It looks that this USB bluetooth dongle is recognized incorrectly as some kind USB-combined-device (not sure about correct English term).

There is no Bluetooth group at all in Device Manager.

Thus all Bluetooth related settings are missing in Windows 10.

I tried to install driver / device many times without success.

This USB combined device is using usbccgp.sys driver - correct?

I have been checking also 'Services' and Bluetooth-support service is 'automatic' and running (restarted several times).

This BT USB dongle is working fine in Windows 7 PC.

-> Any ideas how to get this work?
