Why do some websites recognize my laptop as a mobile device?

Why are some websites unable to recognize my latop as a laptop and believes I am on a mobile device? I have been trying to do assessment tests on a couple of different sites that require a laptop or desktop. I am on a Windows 11 laptop but whenever I access them and try to do the tests it won't let me do them because the sites think I am on a phone. It tells me to log in again on a laptop or desktop in order to complete the tests. If this only occured on one site I would assume some error on their end but it has occured now on multiple sites that seemingly have nothing to do with each other a

    :)

  2. Website thinks desktop is mobile device

    Hi,

From the above description, I understand the laptop is recognized as a mobile device on streaming NBC’s website. Please reply, did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?

If yes, revert the changes and check if the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, put the desktop in
Tablet mode and check if the issue is resolved.

    • Click on the Action Center icon present on the right hand corner of the taskbar located on the left side of the Date & time display.
    • Select Tablet Mode option from the window.
    • Close the window and check if the changes is effective.

Write to us with the status of NBC website recognizing laptop as a mobile device in the same post for further assistance. Your reply is most important for us to ensure we assist you accordingly.

    Thank you.

Why do some websites recognize my laptop as a mobile device?

Websites consider my laptop as a mobile device

Which particular add-ons am I supposed to turn on? There are several listed and some are on and some are not.

I can't imagine what add-on would tell the website that I am not on a mobile device when the website is detecting it to be a mobile device?
