Windows 10: Why do Updates Remove Personalization Settings

Several times over the last couple of days I receive a Microsoft update that removes my personal settings and defaults. I have to take time to restore them, I do not like Microsoft determining for me what or how my desktop, printer or browser, etc. should be. I resent having to waste time resetting what should not be touched in the first place. It has even switched computer identities/profiles on me. I lose productivity having to figure out what is missing or changed and to restore them.

We suggest that you follow the steps below to put your settings back to default and see if it helps.

• Right-click your mouse on your desktop.
• Click on Personalize.
• Select Colors.
• Click on High contrast settings.
• From the drop-down menu, select None.
• Click Apply.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:
