Windows 10: Why do Windows 10 Updates Break Everything?

This is more of a commentary than a question.


Windows 7 is possibly the greatest OS ever built. Windows 10 on the other hand is woeful. Might I suggest to Microsoft that they build an OS for computers and leave Windows 10 to the tablet and phone applications? I have had three computers crash at my office over the last 10 days all after the updates that were released May 1st. This unacceptable practice of releasing untested updates to PC's that were just barely limping along with this horrendous OS is rampant. The PC's I am referring to are not old WIN 7 boxes, but new 2019 Dell PC's with the best hardware available during the build with Dell 3K per machine. WIN 10 updates have caused massive data losses for our company. Please do not say to use the worthless recovery tool with the backups and system images we have, that does not work either. If anyone has tried to contact Microsoft technical support have your credit card ready! How does a manufacturer charge for warranty support when the product that they have sold is less than one year old? Seems like a fair question, and one I am posing to the Attorney General of Arizona.


Knowing Paul Allen personally, due to contracts with the Seahawks, it is obvious he and the rest of the original genius at Microsoft had nothing to do with the mess Windows 10 is.


Please Microsoft clean up your act. At this rate I am sure my stock in Microsoft is just going to slide as the real world turns to alternative OS's such as Linux, out of sheer desperation for an operating system that actually works with reliability, or worse yet turns to Apple. At this time the world is left knowing that Windows 3.1 was superior to the garbage you have released on us all.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Apologies for the late reply.



Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

Creative X-Fi Soundcards and Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709 = Complete Disaster / Not Working

Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.
