Windows 10: Why do windows keep collapsing into small rectangles? Very annoying!

Hello. When viewing any window in half screen, when I hit the Home key and one of the arrows to move that half window to the opposite side of the screen, the window collapses into a small rectangle on the opposite side of the screen. If I then resize the window to half screen, hit the expand button upper right-hand corner, the window will expand to full screen. If I then hit the restore button the window will become a half screen, which is fine. However, if I then once again hit the Home key and one of the arrows to move that half window to the opposite side of the screen, the window once again collapses into a small rectangle on the opposite side of the screen. This happens with any and all windows whether it's a document, web page, everything. Is there any solution to this very annoying problem? Thank you.

I have installed some new fonts and after installation my desktop menus apperas with a small rectangle.
I already installed the Windows 8.1 Font Pack but did not solve the issue

how do you collapse an indented bullet list whem using the OneNote app on windows phone 8.1?

I often make an outline on my pc/rt that I collapse.

For example:

• topic A
  • detail
  • detail
  • detail

can be collapsed by bringing my cursor to the bullet next to topic A and clicking .... the result being

• topic A (with a small plus sign + to the left of the bullet, with details hidden, but able to be revealed which when the + is clicked.

I cannot figure out how to do this on my windows phone, where it would be particularly useful given the small screen. When I tap the bullet to collapse or uncollapse the detail, nothing happens.

I understand that you would like to have a collapsed view of the items on the navigation pane of the File Explorer while saving a file. To do this, I would suggest you to try the steps listed below and see if it works.

• Open File Explorer
  and click on the View tab.
  
• Click on the drop down next to
  Navigation Pane and uncheck Show all folders.
  
• Exit File Explorer
  and try saving a file now.
