  1. Why do windows open on top of each other, rather than a "clear" spot on the monitor?

Why does the second program I open always open RIGHT ON TOP of the previous program I'm running? I generally open a browser window, go to a webpage, then open another instance of the browser to open another page for reference. But it always opens RIGHT ON TOP of the previous page, very annoying. I'm tired of moving the new one out of the way. The second and third/fourth/etc should open ANYWHERE else besides an already open window. I've got two monitors. And I don't want to force the first window to always be on top, as that won't solve the problem, which is where the new windows open.

    :)

  3. A 1/2" square spot of "snow" on monitor screen?

    Hi,

    • Are you saying that you have tried all the steps and the issue still persist?

    • What is the model number of your Dell Inspiron laptop?

    Could you send a screen shot of the issue? To take a screen shot using Snipping tool, follow the below steps;

    • To open Snipping Tool, type Snipping Tool in the search box on the taskbar, then select
      Snipping Tool.

    • To take a screenshot with Snipping Tool, select
      New,
then select the part of the screen that you want to capture. Choose from free-form, rectangular, window or full-screen snips by selecting the arrow on the
      New button.

I suggest you to refer to the answer provided bysker-hughes in the below link and check if the issue can be resolved.

    Redirecting

Let us know if you need further assistance, we will be glad to help you.

    Clear Pagefile on Shutdown

I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?
