Windows 10: Why do you keep trying to upgrade old computers?

I do not understand something. Let us put it simple terms. A Pinto and a Cadillac both have 4 wheels. However you cannot stuff the Cadillac engine in the Pinto. We gave you thr right to MODIFY YOUR software, not destroy our computers. You have didabled 5 of mine. I am disabled 67 and do not understand A DAMN THING about computers! I am quite sure in the area I live in the East Bay there are quite a few lawers who woulld love to take my case probono, This time you came in and tried to upgrade a 10 year old desktop and it is now having difficulties. You can try following this guide. I suggest either step 4 or step 7.

 

Video card or RAM need upgrading?

Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

 

Upgrade Windows 10 Family to Pro with license from old computer

You could try:

1. Disconnect the computer from all sources of internet.
2. On the Windows Activation Screen in Settings, change the product key to Windows 10 Pro generic key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T.
3. After it upgrades to Pro, reconnect to the internet.
4. Then try the activation troubleshooter to transfer license from old computer.

There is absolutely no guarantee step 4 will work and be WARNED, once you upgrade to Pro it will be very difficult to downgrade back to Home version.
