Windows 10: Why does 1903 maintenance delete my restore created points?

I had an lot of problems with my Dell PC auto daily maintenance. Under 1809 it was creating BSOD until I use an flash to boot up Windows were I could do an restore and PC would run until next day boot up and it started the daily maintenance. I thought 1903 might solve the problem but still have problems but different. It deletes my restore points where I had to do several installments. I have seen under 1903 it show the finish with the date for an second and then disappear as maintenance started again. I saw that an second time but eventually it rebooted itself. Went to maintenance where I had the option to stop maintenance but it wouldn't take. My restore points had been deleted. Decided to do an refresh of Windows software. After all that was done. I create restore points and check to make sure they were there. Started daily maintenance stop it and started it and stop an few more times hoping that would help in getting by whatever it was causing the problem. It was completed but again my restore points were deleted.

1. Right-click the Start button, then select Control Panel >
   System and Maintenance > System.
2. In the left pane, select System protection.
3. Select the System Protection tab, and then select Create.
4. In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then select
   Create.

Restore points


A bit over a month ago I activated creation of system restore points on Windows 10. However, I just looked at the list restore point and am confused. There was one created when I (unsuccessfully) tried to take an image backup, 4 for when I was installing drivers and/or uninstalling programs, and one (count it - one) automatic restore point taken 2 days ago. There are none related to Windows updates even though Windows maintenance has been applied.

This prompts some questions:

1. What prompted the "automatic" creation of a Restore Point, and how to I configure it to happen more often?
2. Does Windows 10 maintenance create some other kind of backup image when maintenance is applied? If so, does that other thing have something similar the the System Restore's "Scan for effected programs" function?

Behind these questions is a deeper one: If I uninstall a Cumulative Update fix, is all the maintenance for the current build removed, or does Windows uninstall just the new maintenance that was installed when the fix was applied? If all maintenance is uninstalled then I really need to start creating more Restore Points.
