Windows 10: Why does Action Center, after four years, STILL cause a three second delay when using...

I can't comment there; as that thread is locked. Why are so many threads locked, while they are UNresolved??

So, this is a bug, and Microsoft didn't give attention to it in four years??


If I remove Action Center form the system tray, the problem is gone. Surely, it can't be that Microsoftwants you to disable Action Center??

It took me about a hour to find the solution and, I DID use Action Center. But now I know it has this stupid bug, so I have to disable it. If one million people use shortcuts on the desktop, than that's 1 million hours to combat the issue. Surely, instead of wasting 1 million hours, Microsoft could better hire a good programmer for 1 hour? Saves us 999.999 hours.

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.

• Click on Start, type notifications in the search box.
• In the list, select notifications & action settings.
• On the right side, click on turn system icons on or off.
• Turn off action center from there.
