    Why does Adobe Acrobat DC's "Crop Pages" fail to crop my PDF?


    Please see the GIF below. You can download the PDF here. Here's my goal. In the PDF, all pages are bordered by white blank space, but the white blank space start at different lengths from the border. Scilicet, the cutoff and dimensions of the text and images differ for each page. Unquestionably it's too inefficient to measure the cutoff of white blank space on each page. So I'm cropping to eliminate the maximum white space, without cropping any of the substantive content.

    Open PDF with Adobe Acrobat

    I assume you are using the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2021.005.20048. As far as I know older versions are no longer supported.

    That is my default PDF Reader, no problem with making that the Default.

    Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Set defaults by app > Adobe Acrobat Reader DC > Click on that > Manage > .pdf should obviously be Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as are some others.

    Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose Default applications by file type > Scroll down to .pdf click on that Choose Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    That should stick, it does on mine.

    . But when I open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, it shows the document normally. It only opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. I don't know what was done to the file before it was given to me and I have tried printing it to a PDF and opening it but it gives me the same error. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I have Window 8.1 on my laptop. I use Firefox Mozilla browser. Last week I have received a notification to update window 8.1. So I did updates and restart my laptop again. After that I had issue with my 'pdf" files couldn't open them. Then one of the agents
    from Microsoft "uninstalled" the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from my laptop. Now I tried to download
    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC but I can't download it, there is an error message says it is not downloaded. Any suggestions?
