Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.

Connecting Xbox to PC

Hello,

Please answer the below questions to assist you better.

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Which version of windows is running on your system?

Suggest you to follow below steps and check if you are able to connect your Xbox to your Computer.

• Sign in to your Xbox Live account using your Microsoft login credentials
• Verify that your Xbox One is connected to the same network as your Windows PC
• Power on your Xbox One.
• Press the “Menu” button on your Xbox controller and select “Settings.”
• Select “Preferences” and place a checkmark next to “Allow streaming to other devices.”
• Connecting Xbox and PC.
• Click on “Connect” on the Xbox app on your Windows 10 PC
• Select the name of your Xbox One console
• Connect an Xbox One controller to your PC using a USB cable
• Click on “Stream,” then select the Xbox game you want to play on your PC
• Click on “Play from console”.

After Windows 10 Creators Update, 'cast to device' is not working from my PC to my XBox One (previously it used to work smoothly)

Please find below my response inline.

• Are you getting any error messages when performing the action?
  • [Pushan] No. Just XBox is not showing up in the devices list to cast. Previously I could see my XBox in the list of devices and when I clicked on it, the media used to show up in XBox on the app 'Movies & TV'. This functionality was working since last week.
    Just after the creator update it stopped working.
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  • [Pushan] Somehow creator update disabled media streaming option in my PC. I enabled it again and allowed all the devices in local network to gain access to media streaming. That's all I have done till now.
• Is the issue specific to this app?
  • [Pushan] As of now I have checked only from MS Edge browser. I can check from Movies & TV app also, but I don;t think this issue is app specific because when I went to devices in my settings I was not able to see my XBox listed there. So, it looks like
    my PC is not able to find XBox after the updates. Now I don't know which is culprit here- my PC update or my XBox update. Both got updated and this problem is after that.
