    Why does AOL reject my password in Windows 11


    I recently purchased a new laptop running Windows 11. I have tried to sign in to AOL, with a response that my password is invalid, despite the password still working on all of my other devices. What am I missing? I'm a rookie when it comes to Windows 11. The password manager shows the correct password. Any help would be appreciated.

    Windows Live Mail with (Verizon) AOL help!!

    Have you created an app specific password? AOL now require 2-step authentication so any less secure email apps cannot use the usual account password.

    Outlook trouble in Windows 10 handling AOL email

    Hi Dave,

    • Are you referring to Windows 10 Mail App?
    • If yes, then is that an additional account?

    If your AOL is an additional account in Windows 10 Mail App, then I suggest you to remove the account and reconfigure it and check the behavior. And if your AOL is primary a account, please get back to us for further assistance.

    Windows 10 mail has stopped working with AOL

    AOL now use Yahoo so you’ll require 2-step authentication & an app specific password.
