Windows 10: Why does Cast to Device show up several times in firewall on both public and private domains?

My firewall shows cast to device serval times? Why is this?

In a peer-peer network of 5 computers, I need one of them to run and update files residing on a "host" in a multi-user mode application that allows both users simultaneous access. Was working fine before the "host" (computer where the data file used by
both resides) did a Windows update Friday (2/2/2018), after the update the "client" computer could no longer see the "host". Got it working again by turning off the Windows Defender Private Firewall while leaving the Windows Defender Domain and Public Firewalls
on.

I am believing this will keep both users protected from any hack attempts from outside the network, but I would like a better understanding of each of these Firewalls inside Windows Defender to make sure I am not opening the users on this small network to
any outside influence.

Can someone please clarify the differences between Domain, Private, and Public Firewalls in a small peer-peer network?

Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

Hi,

Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

• Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
  Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall.
• A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
• Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.

 

Home network shows as public in Windows 10 Firewall.

Just started using Windows 10. In Firewall, my home network is showing up as a public network instead of a private one. I'm getting bombarded with uninvited intruders opening tabs in my Firefox browser. Hopefully this will end if I can get my network
to register as private. Any suggestions?
