Windows 10: Why does Cortana open when I press any key

Why does Cortana pop up everytime I press a key , it could be enter shift backspace , e , f , anything , Cortana apparently doesn't even work in the language my computer is in , additionally the option to disable run at log in isn't even there

I have noticed that BingSvc is running on Windows 10


It is a part of Cortana. You have to do the following.

If you're okay with that, follow these steps:

• Press the Win key to open the Start Menu.
• Search for “Cortana & Search Settings” and select the option that appears.
• Disable Cortana in the first toggle in the menu.
• Once Cortana is disabled, you should see an option that reads “Search online and include web results.”

@dhievm go ahead and list the model number that gives exact specs/info.


Does it stop right at the Toshiba logo and sit there? Will it sit forever til you press a key, or will it eventually work after so long?

In this scenario, we would suggest you to refer the steps as mentioned in this article:
Cortana's regions and languages



Also perform these steps and check:

1. Click on Cortana icon on the taskbar and sign in with your Microsoft Account
   
2. If you still receive the same message, go to Microsoft Store and search for Cortana.
   
3. Click on the Get button, and install the update from the Store
   
4. Launch Cortana, sign into it.
   
   
   

If the issue persists then reinstall/re-register Cortana.

1. Press Windows + X key and click Windows PowerShell (Admin)
2. Copy and paste the below command and press Enter key:

Get-AppXPackage -Name Microsoft.Windows.Cortana | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

3. Restart the PC and check.
