Windows 10: Why does desktop file icon jump around sometimes when program is closed?

Win 10 Pro 2004, Office 2019 H&S. I have a Word doc — not a shortcut — on my desktop that I open, make an entry, save and then close the program every day. At least once or twice a week recently, upon closing the program, the icon will jump to another place far away on the desktop. Why might this be happening? On the desktop, it's next to a couple of Excel docs that are similarly opened, save and closed every day, and this has never happened with them or with any other of the many icons — files or programs — on the desktop. I don’t recall when this behavior started, i.e., before or after Win 10 2004, which I installed soon after release, but it is a matter of a very short time. Thanks,

Sometimes when I click on a desktop icon the icon will jump to the top left corner almost off the screen. Why does it do that and how can I stop it from happening?

Why does the curser jump around when I type? How do I stop it. Very annoying.

 

Desktop icons have started jumping around in Windows 10

I've done a short screen video of the curious behaviour. When I drag an icon towards another icon on the desktop, the other one jumps around. In this video I've only used one icon and the recycle bin, as I didn't want to show other icons on my desktop.
