Windows 10: Why does Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo install as Other Device rather than as a Printer?

I am unable to install my Dymo LabelWriter 450 Duo to work with my Windows 10 Pro laptop although I have previously used this printer successfully with another computer - I have tried the software Dymo Connect 1.3.2 & Dymo 8.7.3 - the programs install and run but state that the printer is not connected.

I plugged in the printer after installing the software as directed by Dymo instructions - Windows seems to recognise the printer naming it DYMO LabelWriter 450 DUO but classifies it under "Other devices" rather than Printers. When viewed in Windows Device Manager, it states that it is a Software Device and will not allow me to manually update the driver stating that the device does not require a driver.


I have gone through this process many times, fully uninstalling the programs and removing the device between each attempt but I cannot resolve.



My Windows 10 Pro is fully updated.



Would appreciate assistance as I cannot believe that I am spending so many hours on something like this in our current plug-and-life world.

Dymo LabelWriter 450

I have followed instructions for Dymo to install the LabelWriter 450. I cannot get it to work. I get an unknown device message.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled this printer 3 times to no avail. I have a USB3.0 superspeed hub and had my desktop printer connected to this and an old Seiko label printer connected. Everything worked fine until the Windows 10 upgrade now nothing works
in this hub nor will the label printer work connected to my cpu. Get same message, unknown device

Brand New Dymo LabelWRiter 450 doen't work

I just installed a brand new Dymo LabelWriter 450 and now can't get into it. Says there is a problem. This has happened to a lot of my printers. Every time I update, they don't work! This is a brand new label printer that I just opened the box and
now it doesn't work
