Windows 10: Why does it let me change the password so easily?

Basically If I get my password wrong 3 times in a row it asks me to change my password but it doesn't send me any email or anything when someone changes my password it just lets them change it then it logs them into my account, doesn't even ask for the old password when putting in a new pin. I've had a few people change it as a joke but if someone actually takes my laptop they can asceses everything and don't even have to know my password Does anyone else have this problem???Thanks

Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password


I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

1. Launch Control Panel.
2. Click "Network and Internet."
3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
5. Click "Wireless Properties."
6. Click the Security tab.
7. Check "Show characters."
8. Enter the password in "Network security key."

Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?

 

Changing sign-in password clue

Thanks James. The system allowed me to change my security questions without changing my password, but not to change my password hint without changing my password, but it did easily allow me to change my password to the same password and then select a new hint. The reason I was reticent about changing my password is that the sign-in screen gives me this option after having mis-typed my password, but when I click on it I get the message "This feature requires removable media such as a USB flash drive. Please connect a USB flash drive and then try again."
