    Why does it show:somethin happned try again later when trying to retrieve bitlocker key


    When im trying to do the device encryption on my laptop, the browser dosent work so it tells me to scan a QR code and takes to the bitlocker site to get my key but there is an error everytime i try.

    BitLocker recovery key

    My computer is locked by BitLocker and the recovery key is not showing in the Microsoft account (the device is listed). How can I generate/retrieve the key (I don't have it stored anywhere)?

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    We understand your concern as the PC is locked with BitLocker and you are unable to retrieve the BitLocker Recovery key from your Microsoft account.



    In this situation, we would first suggest you to set the PC to default BIOS settings.



    If you still get the option for BitLocker recovery key, then we would suggest you to refer the below article for managing the security info on your Microsoft account and later retrieve the recovery key.
