Why does it take so long to copy files in Windows 10?

Why does it take so long to copy files in Windows 10? I copied just under 10GB from my internal D:\ drive to my internal E:\ drive yesterday and it took over 6 hours! That's nuts! Both the D:\ and E:\ drives are each 6TB and both have more than 3TB of available space. This should not take this long. All drivers are up to date. There are no viruses or malware. I did a check on each drive and there are no errors. I performed both the Seagate and Western Digital drive tools tests and all drives show no issues and passed each test!

Windows 10 64bit is up to date

    8 core i7 proc

    32GB Ram

14TB of disk space over 3 internal hard drives.

This should NOT take this long!

    :)

    Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
