  1. Why does Microsoft hate us having home networking

I have 10 computers on a home network 4 old desktops which are used for data storage ( a poor mans NAS )3 laptops of various ages 2 desktops for general use and a very old Samsung nc10 which belively runs Win 10.

These machines are connected via a Netgear switch and router to a broadband fibre connection to the outside internet which works fine.

Every time Microsoft pushes an update onto these machines they stop talking to each other and require me to reset the network adapters which takes me a while ( about 10 Minutes each machine ) so my question is

WHY DOES MICROSOFT KEEP MUCKING ABOUT WITH OUR MACHINES BY RESETTING THEM TO WHAT IT THINKS IS THE BEST THING FOR US, THEY DO NOT OWN THE MACHINE WE DO

I WILL NOT PUT MY DATA ON ANY CLOUD SERVER WHICH IS WHAT MICROSOFT APPEARS IT WANTS AS THEY ARE A BIG TARGET FOR HACKERS YOU ONLY HAVE TO BROWSE THE WEB FOR NUDE PICS OF HOLLYWOOD STARS WHICH HAVE BEEN HACKED TO SEE HOW BIG A PROBLEM THIS IS ALSO WHEN YOU UPLOAD ANYTHING YOU LOSE ALL CONTROL OF THAT DATA.

So Microsoft please stop mucking about with home networking and give us a system which works, like the one that is about at the moment also stop rewiteing network adapter drivers that trash old network cards ( One of the laptops has had both its network card and WFI card rendered useless by drivers that do not work which keep been uploaded by updates)

There is an old saying IF IT WORKS LEAVE IT WELL ALONE

    :)

  2. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

Did our Epson printer get hacked?

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.

Why does Microsoft hate us having home networking

    Basic Network guide

I'll be adding a small page on doing this in windows vista soon, since XP is the same with a step or two less, i assume people will figure it out.
