Windows 10: Why does Microsoft lock threads that are not answered?

I just want to know: Why do they lock threads here that do not have an answer?We all hate it when there are multiple threads with the same question. It only serves to obfuscate an answer.Of course, Microsoft could just fix things like the virtual number pad in excel... for example... like so many people are complaining about... instead of locking threads to find a working solution so we can get back to a flowing work flow.

LOCKED THREAD

I just found this after searching for 'answers.microsoft.com locked thread'.

I'm not sure what an 'Independent Advisor' is, but if you're in connection with Microsoft, or at least this forum's maintainers please say to them that locking threads because of inactivity doesn't help at all. I've just found a solution for a thread's problem,
but it's of course locked, and I can't even message it's author.. this way, and that usually most of the answers are not helpful at all, this forum doesn't really valuable, because most of the questions doesn't receive an answer, and then they get locked so
it's impossible to ever receive an answer on them..

can you give us a bit more information, where are you seeing "locked thread"?

is it somewhere in windows or here in the microsoft community?

it may have been locked because of lack of activity, there has been no further posts since DaveM121 nearly a year ago

if you have not found an answer to a locked thread, try starting another thread giving more information or wording it differently
