Windows 10: Why does my bluetooth generic adapter NOT work properly after installing the latest drivers?

I've purchased a Bluetooth plug n play adapter to connect my wireless stereo and gamepad to my PC. Since November of 2024 it has failed, consistently, to connect to my bluetooth devices after installing the latest drivers. The only method I can get them to work is to completely uninstall the drivers, disconnect and reconnect the USB and leave it unupdated just to be able to use my wireless items. Whenever I have to restart for other updates the drivers reinstall with error:31 all over again. Please, what is causing this issue, I have followed all previous solutions and none of them are workin

Promate Bluetooth™ 4.0 USB Adapter !

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?

It seems that the issue occurs after the Windows Update, we suggest that you download and run the

Windows Update Troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, you can follow these steps to reinstall the Windows Generic Bluetooth Adapter.

• Go to Device Manager.
• Look for the Windows Generic Bluetooth Adapter.
• Right click, then select Uninstall.

  to scan for hardware changes.
