Windows 10: Why does my computer have trouble connecting to the internet?

I have a Dell Inspiron 5593 with Windows 11 and my computer is having trouble connecting to the internet. I keep getting a windows error saying DNS server not found, but then sometimes I don't get any error message. Either way, it takes me a long time to connect to the internet, if and when it decides to connect. Why is my computer doing this? And how do I fix it?

1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig
   
   
   
2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
   Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
   NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank
   
   
   

 

Trouble with Internet Connection

I'm having a bit of trouble with the internet on my PC. Recently our landline stopped working, for almost a few weeks we had this issue until suddenly it started working again. When this trouble first came about I started having trouble with my internet on my computer, which is connected by an ethernet cable, the WI-FI was mostly unaffected. Although the landline is working again my computer is still the same, so sometimes I'll have internet, and after a few moments its gone again, I'll then go to a website and it takes a while before saying the connection was lost, then suddenly after a few minutes the website will suddenly appear. I've run Windows Diagnostics and it can't find a problem, I get no messages on the notification area either to say there is no internet, it says I have internet at all times. What can I check to get things running smoothly again, any help is much appreciated?

Method 1: Internet Troubleshoot

Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet connection. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your internet.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
• 
  Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to update drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer
website.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.

• 
  Select Network Adapter and expand the driver icon.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
