Windows 10: Why does my computer keep hard hanging?

My computer keeps hard hanging randomly. I can not recreate it when I try. Stress tests don't cause a hard hang. It happens randomly and seemingly for no reason. No matter what I do, it will just randomly hard hang and sometimes enter a shutting-down screen. I can not pinpoint the cause at all. I have tried new RAM, which I have seen as a potential cause, but that has not changed anything. I will add the most recent dump file. I have turned all manufacturer limits from intel in my BIOS as well as disabled hyperthreading and intel turbo to no avail. If someone more adept at diagnosing and under

Windows 10 hangs/freezes on Restart

If this happens even during installation, that means that it is probably a hardware issue. To troubleshoot the problem, I suggest doing the following steps:

1. Install Hard Disk Sentinel and use it to check your HDD/SSD for problems.
   
2. Use MemTest to make sure that your RAM is ok. Here is a how to - guide.
   

After You done these two steps, give a feedback of the results.

 

Windows 10 update hangs on downloading updates at 98%

Hi vinodh,

In step 3 you state to press enter after after each command but its written like one sentence,could you list them so we can identify each command please.my pc just hangs on "checking for updates" so i installed the win 10 updater and that just hangs on 99%
so i will try what you suggest above.
