Windows 10: why does my computer keep turning off after window 10 update 1909/2004

my computer keeps turning off after these updates it was okay on update 1809 and below. it turns off in the morning

and after its ok it may shut down sometimes in afternoonits rare. in 1903 it said it was locking,in 2004 update it goes black screen and then it shuts down.no there is no problem with the computer.it is because of window so if you know how i can fix it please comment.

After clicking `Download & Install` 2004 update it keeps disappearing.

Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.900)

So last week when I ran Windows Update it gave me the button to `Download & Install` the 2004 Windows 10 update. When I clicked it everything just disappeared. I thought that was weird, but I didn't pursue it further.

Well, today, Windows Update gave me the option again to `Download & Install` it. This time when I clicked it *instantly* failed with error `0x80246017` as quick as it previously disappeared. The account I was logged into was an Administrator.

I looked this error up and read some things about running the Windows Update troubleshooter. I ran the troubleshooter and it returned 2 issues. One was about pending updates which it resolved and the other was about my internet connection with suggestions to reset it. The internet connection error I believe was due to my VPN, because Microsoft Store says I am not connected if the VPN is turned on and I usually have to turn it off. I reset the network connection and reboot. When Windows started back up I stopped the VPN and turned it off. When I ran Windows Update the `Download & Install` button for the 2004 update was back. I clicked it and it did the same exact thing it did last week. It just disappeared and that was it.

Now when I run the troubleshooter it finds no issues. If I restart the computer it doesn't come back.

Why on earth would this new update be doing this? This computer is very new. In October 2019 it was the ThinkPad X1 Carbon with the best possible configuration available. It can definitely handle the update, but maybe there are some kinks with it still?

I really want to install this update and check it out. Anyone have any advice on what to do? Should I just wait? Why would it keep popping up and give me the option to `Download & Install` and keep disappearing?

 

Intel turbo boost does not work after upgrading to Windows 10 2004

Just now my computer received the Windows 10 2004 update and I installed it. The original version is Windows 10 1909. Just after finishing the installation I notice that my Intel i9-9900K CPU does not turbo boost anymore. The maximum CPU frequency is locked
to 3.6 GHz, while before upgrading it can go to 4.7-4.8 GHz. I have not applied any overclocking settings in my motherboard. CPU virtualization is turned off. I install Intel XTU and find that NO throttling is applied.

So why does my CPU don't turbo boost anymore after the upgrade?

 

Why does my windows defender keep turning itself off??

My Microsoft Windows Defender keeps say its been turned off but *I* did NOT turn it off. It keeps turning ITSELF off...but I dont know why!! It cant protect my computer if its off but I cant stop it. Im still VERY new to Windows 10. I got this laptop last
November.
