Windows 10: Why does my computer say no display and has to restart when booting from sleep?

I have had this problem for a while. Occasionally, when my computer boots from sleep, it will say, "No display," and I will have to restart. If it does not say, "no display," it will just leave a black screen and have to be manually restarted if it does not restart automatically. This only happens when the computer is trying to wake up. Display will not sleep.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Click on Start>Settings>System.
• In the left navigation pane, click on Power & sleep.
• In the right pane, select the time limit for the system to go to sleep from the drop down list.

Computer restarts when screen sleeps

Not yet. I am currently using the same workaround as you.

I followed the suggestion to post this problem on the TechNet forum
and received a recommendation. I just haven't had time to try it yet. You can view the post here.
The suggestion is to perform a clean boot. If the problem does not occur then you need to systematically re-enable services (restarting the computer each time) until the problem occurs again. This will pinpoint the problem service.

article to perform a clean boot. The troubleshooting section you will want after performing the clean boot is called "How to determine what is causing the problem by performing a clean boot" near the bottom of the page. Follow step 11 after
pinpointing the issue.
