    Why does my desktop frequently randomly restart?


    I've been having an incredibly irritating problem with my Cybertron desktop randomly restarting on its own. Sometimes it happens while I'm playing a Steam game, sometimes while doing nothing at all. Sometimes it'll restart before even booting Windows. The frequency at which this happens is also seemingly random. Sometimes I can go 2 weeks without an incident, sometimes my PC'll restart twice within a couple of minutes.


    This issue has been plaguing my desktop for at least a year and a half. I even took it to Micro Center, who claimed "they were unable to duplicate the problem". I've tried numerous troubleshooting methods on my own including, but not limited to, the following:

    • Adjusting my desktop's power settings
    • Cleaning the inside of the tower with compressed air
    • Running anti-virus scans
    • Scanning for hard drive errors
    • Completely replacing the RAM with faster RAM
    • Updating the BIOS partially
    • Updating the drivers


    And every single time my PC randomly restarts, the Event Viewer displays the same source: Kernel-Power, as you can see in the screenshot below. I am at my wit's end. This PC isn't even 3 years old. Please help!
