Windows 10: Why does my disk E disappear?

After i downloaded an update for wacom my disk E disappeared and came back the next day. now it happened again without any updating and when i restared instead of having my disk back it said it was on desktop and it had a question mark. Might this be a virus?

I followed all the steps but when I typed in "remove letter=E" and hit enter I received the following:

Virtual Disk Service error:

Assigning or removing drive letters on the current or pagefile

volume is not allowed.

Any suggestions to counter this?

 

Disk management console view is not up-to-date

i dont know how to fix your disk management, but i can fix your partition problems...




open up Command Prompt with admin rights. (Right click, run as admin)


enter in
DISKPART
list disk

then find the Disk number for your Raid array... lets call it number 7 ( you can tell what disk is what by the total size)
type in

Select Disk 7
List Partition (will give you a list of all the partitions..)
Select Partition 1 (im assuming you only have 1 partition on Disk 7) repeat this step if you have more partitions.
ASSIGN


that should get the array up and running ready to use.

Disk D and E disappeared

Hello guys

I tried to browse around, but did not really find an answer that works for my issue.

So having Windws 8.1 the other day it showed an error (blue screen, saying there is a trouble of some kind) and after it did a Windows restore and update. Ever since, my Disk D and E just disappeared.

I from Disk Management, I tried to Refresh, to Rescan Disks, nothing is happening (they just show as Disk 0 Healthy (Recovery Partition) and Disk 0 (Healthy EFI System Partition). I can't right-click and Change the Drive Letter either on any of them.

Would anyone have an idea how to restore them, without loosing the data on them?

I am wondering if there was a problem with the Windows update, so should I try to restore the Windows to a point before the update? However I never created a Restore Point, so I don't know where to go back to.
