Windows 10: Why does my display adapter keep disabling when I update my amd software driver.

Hi my name is Ben my problem is that there is a new update for amd software it’s Adrenaline 23.9.1 whenever I do update it and restart it ect for awhile everything works fine but once my pc is either put asleep when I try turning it on it doesn’t and so I have to restart it and whenever I do that I go to device manager and it shows that my display adapter is disabled so I have to enable it again and go through the process again I’ve tried doing a rollback and uninstall too but still same problem. If anyone does know what’s going on I’d really appreciate it thanks in advance.

What will happen if I disable my only display adapter

An engineer at Adobe is helping me diagnose a problem with Photoshop. He suggested that I disable my AMD card from device manager and run Photoshop on the integrated graphics to see if the issue persists.

When I check Device Manager, I see only one display adapter listed:





Shouldn't the integrated graphics also be listed? If AMD is my only display adapter, I am reluctant to disable it.

Display driver not supporting and device manager not showing Display adapter option

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

• Incorrect settings.
• Corrupt or outdated display driver.

Try the steps listed here and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to download and install all the available Windows Updates including Optional Updates. Check if it helps.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, i suggest you to uninstall and re-install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall display driver.

• Right-click on the Start Button and click on
  Device manager.
• Double-click on Display Adapters to expand.
• Right-click on the display adapter driver that is listed and select properties.
• In the window opened, click on drivers tab.
• In the drivers tab, Click on Uninstall option.

Now restart your computer and check, if the problem persists try step 2.

Step 2:

Re-install display driver from the manufacturer website.
