    Why does my Explorer look and act different in the same version of windows on two different...


    I have two computers running the same version of windows 11. On computer A the explorer looks like this. On computer B the explorer looks like thisThe difference is suttle but on computer A the path is below the tool bar and there is no Preview button and on Computer B the path is above the tool bar and there is a preview button. None of this really matters to me but on Computer A I can drag a file to the visible path drop it on "Local Disk c:" or "Windows" and the file will copy to that location. On Computer B this does not work and this is frustrating because I often need to move files f

    Different panes for different monitors in File Explorer

    Hi aubelhor,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    Currently there is no setting or even a registry hack that can set File Explorer to act differently on different monitors, they have not implemented anything to enable File Explorer to remember which monitor it is on.

    The best option would be to open the Feedback Hub (Windows Key + F) and provide your suggestion to the developers there, hopefully they may see that as a good suggestion and implement it.

    Different File Explorer version?

    Hi Amir,

    please run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth from Windows PowerShell (administrator) environment to check and restore system files.

    Please create new local account to verify problem.

    There cannot be different Explorer versions, there may be different settings.

    File Explorer looks different recently and it is more cumbersome to find a file.

    I have Windows 11 Home, version 22H2. File Explorer looks different recently. For example, to find a document file, I used to go to This PC>Documents and then look for whatever folder to which I saved the document. Now, I have to go to This PC>Acer(CWhy does my Explorer look and act different in the same version of windows on two different... :)>Users>Gunar>OneDrive>Documents. I have had OneDrive for over a year so that is not something I added recently. I don't know why my File Explorer changed its look or how to get the original look back. I have tried using the View tool and the Options tool to change various settings but it still looks different. The screenshot below is the way it looks now. Any suggestions?
