Windows 10: why does my headphone option keep disappearing?

not entirely sure what this is called but most times when i restart my pc the option to switch my playback devices and audio output to my headphones its disappeared. i can still hear audio from the speaker playback device but its inconvenient because i need to unplug my headphones if i want to hear audio through my speakers. any solutions please?

Headphones disappear from Playback

I have a strange problem here. For several different audio devices, the "Headphones" option is disappearing from my Playback list. I can connect to the Headsets for my various bluetooth over-ear headphones,earbuds, etc, but not the Headphones; these don't
even appear. How can I get my "Headphones" back?

Please do not suggest running a Troubleshooter; I've already done this, and it inevitably asks which device I want to troubleshoot. The Headphones don't show up on the list of devices, so this is of no help.

I can also pretty much guarantee this isn't an issue with the drivers particular to the earbuds or other devices, as I've made sure those are up to date, and the problem is occuring for more than one device.

 

Headphones Option is not showing in Playback Device

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

• Did you check if the headphone works when connected to another jack port?
• Did you check if the headphone works when connected to another device?

As of now, I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if that resolves the issue.

Method 1: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below, and check if the issue is resolved.

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box next to
  Start button, and select the top most search result.
• Click on View all from left side panel of the screen.
• Select Hardware and Devices, click on
  Advanced option, and check Apply repairs automatically
  option.
• Follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: If the issue persist, uninstall headphone driver by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc
  in the run prompt.
• Expand the Audio inputs and outputs option, right-click on the
  headphone driver.
• Click Uninstall option, and
  Restart the PC to automatically re-install the headphone driver.

bluetooth headphones

setting up win10 Bluetooth and my Bluetooth headphones work fine ,but every time I reconnect the headphones I have to delete them from Bluetooth settings and let win10 pickup the headphones again ,before they will pair ,then win10 want to reboot to add the headphones ,I reboot and they work fine ,but next time I plug the headphone in again they will not pair ,don't even get an option to pair till I delete the head phones from the list ,, any suggestions ,, thank
