Windows 10: Why does my iPhone 13 not show a DCIM folder when I connect it to and allow access to my...

I’m trying to transfer my photos from my iPhone 13 to my PC, but even though I choose “trust,” the DCIM folder isn’t showing up. I only see 3 folders with a lot of numbers on them. They read as “202408_” 202409_” and 202410_” in my internal storage. What’s going on here and how do I fix it?

Recently developed a problem when I connect it to my iphone 6 to download pics to my pc
When I click on the iphone icon the DCIM folder appears, but when I click on it a response appears "this file is empty"

The DCIM folder does contain numerous photo files, and the iphone is unlocked.....Any ideas what may be causing this problem?

I have looked into and opened DCIM folders in order to access them and transfer them to my pictures folder a number of times in the past. But, suddenly, the DCIM folder(s) are not visible when I click on 'computer' on my PC. How do I bring DCIM folders back?
