Windows 10: Why does my laptop freeze after leaving the power cord unplugged?

My computer will freeze if the power cord is left unplugged. Sometimes its 5 minutes after unplugging; sometimes it's an hour after unplugging. That being said, my computer will always freeze if left unplugged for too long. I am running Windows 11 if that helps. I have to physically hold the button down to turn the laptop off and turn it back on again. I will get a blue screen saying windows didn't shut down properly and it asks me what I want to do next with various options. I end up hitting the restart button and it starts up just fine but I need to make sure my power cord stays plugged in o

Computer freezing a lot ever since I upgraded to 10, having this issues when I unplug anything usb powered such as a mouse or power cord or when I close my laptop. Also freezing from normal use randomly. PLEASE HELP

Hello everyone! I recently bought MSI GF72VR and I am having strange problem with it.

Almost every time when I unplug power cord and I have open program my laptop freezes for about 3-4 seconds then it comes black screen and then blue screen and restart. I have tried to disable Microsoft AC adapter and I played a lot with Power options but
there was no effect at all.

This issue could be either due to some issues with the power settings or corrupted system files on the computer. Try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps you to resolve this issue.

Method 1: Run the Performance troubleshooter.

Performance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

• Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
• Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
• Select System Maintenance.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Method 2: Run the Power Troubleshooter

Power troubleshooterfind and fix problems with your computer's power settings to conserve power and extent battery life

  Type Troubleshooting in the
  Search bar on the desktop and press Enter.

  In the Troubleshooting window, click on
  View All on the left pane.

  Run as Administrator.

  Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Method 3: I suggest you to restore the power plans to default,
create a new plan and check if it helps.

Step 1: Reset and restore the power plans to default:

• Right-click on Start button
  and click on Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the command prompt, type powercfg –restoredefaultschemes
  and hit Enter.
• Exit command prompt.

Note: This would reset the power plan settings to default. Any customized power plans are would be removed.

Step 2: Once the power plan is reset to default, you may create a
new power plan and customize the same according to your needs.
