Windows 10: Why does my laptop go into hibernate mode whenever I'm performing heavy tasks like gaming...

I own an ASUS laptop with the model number K6602VU, equipped with an Intel i9 13th-gen processor and an RDX4050 graphics card, running Windows 11. The issue I'm encountering with this laptop is that whenever I'm engaged in resource-intensive tasks like gaming or video editing, it unexpectedly enters hibernation mode. I've tried resolving this problem by replacing the motherboard and resetting all the software, but I'm still facing the same issue. Can anyone offer assistance in resolving this problem?

Win 10 Task Scheduler will not awake from hibernation properly

Your scheduled task looks fine.

I have a fundamental problem with your thread. You keep talking about "Hibernation" and the name of your schedduled task also includes this word. Now Windows 10 has two energy saving modes:

• Sleep Mode. In this mode most activities are shut off but the CPU keeps ticking over. It will respond to the keyboard, the mouse and to scheduled events.
• Hibernation. In this mode the current state is saved to disk, then the computer is shut down. In this mode the PC consumes no power. You can disconnect the power cord or remove the battery (in case of a laptop). When resuming, the current state is read
  back into RAM and Windows resumes where it left off.

In your scheduled task you instruct Windows to "wake the computer to run this task". This means that the PC MUST BE IN SLEEP MODE. If it was hibernating then it could not be woken because the CPU is shut down!

There are only two things that can wake a hibernating PC. Neither is dependent on the CPU:

• The power switch
• The BIOS (if it features such a function)

Perhaps you would like to review your problem in the light of the above observations.

 

Laptop no longer hibernates on critical power

Hi Mike,

The laptop's battery is possibly wearing out. Since you haven't change any settings, we suggest that you change the critical battery level a bit higher so that your laptop can perform a hibernation on a much higher percentage than the default. Follow the
steps below:

• Type Power Options on the Start menu search bar.
• Under Battery, click on Critical battery level.
• Chang the default percentage to 10% or higher.
• Click on Apply.

Hibernate mode

I have my laptop set to hibernate mode when I close the lid. It worked fine with Windows 8 but since the upgrade to Windows 10 the laptop has no power after closing the lid and opening it hours later. In settings, it does show that it is suppose to go
into hibernate mode when lid is closed.

Any suggestions?
