Windows 10: Why does my laptop show i have 8 ram slots?

i was planning to upgrade my laptop ram until i saw that it has 8 ram slots. I have a Acer Aspire 5 15.

I tried to do a test to see if it could be fixed so I made a new partition on the drive and installed fresh windows to fix this problem but when I looked at task manager it is still showing that it has 8 slots of RAM. so what is going wrong here

Greetings my friend. Like 'Mike P', my dell has only two slots as well. There are several laptops that have four (4) ram slots. Lenovo, ASUS, some HP's and some dell's. I would suggest going to a website like newegg.com, or other computer accessory place,
and looking at their memory/ram selections. Reading their details should provide some insight as to the number of slots.

Of course, if your budget allows, the more ram you have, the better the laptop will be.

No laptop would have 8 RAM slots on the motherboard, usually the maximum is 2 RAM slots.

I need more information on your laptop, click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

Please provide a screenshot of where you are seeing that your laptop has 8 RAM slots.
