Windows 10: Why does my Media Player Legacy on my HP Laptop not detect a blank CD-R disc?

I am trying to burn music from a wave file to a blank cdr on my hp laptop. It does not recognize the new blank cd repeatedly. What's going on?

What is the Make & Model # of the computer, and CD/DVD-RW drive? What brand of blank CD-R are you using? Or are you using an RW disc? As stated, RW discs take extra steps to use and not recommended for Audio CD's. Not every brand of disc works with every brand of drive. As stated, use only Name Brand Blank CD-R's You can update the Firmware for the burner drive from the manufacture to allow it to support different brands of Blanks. Verify in the Burning App that the Recorder is supported and lists the drive in the app as the recorder. With a blank CD-R disc in, open a burning program like CD BurnerXP, or any other burning app Go to the top toolbar to Recorder, confirm the Drive is listed which means that drive is supported. If so, then go to Disc/Disc Information on the Toolbar to make sure this disc is showing as Blank and ready to be burned. The computer is Dell 9020 sff, cd rewritable dis drive, I use tdk and verbatim discs

 

CD-R cannot view disc

I have photo's on CD-R disc that I can't view. What steps do I have to go through to view CD-R disc not burn onto a CD-R disc?
