Windows 10: Why does my monitor go black every couple of seconds but stays on.

So, this is the 3rd time I'm asking a question here because i still haven't found a solution. For context: For the past couple of months, my computer screen has kept going black for a couple of seconds, then turning back on. When i first start my computer, this doesn't ALWAYS happen, but as soon as i start playing a game that requires a graphics card, it starts happening and then my displays go all crazy and the game ends up crashing after i close it. This black screen continues even after i close out of the app and i have found no solution. My cables are fine, it's not my monitor because I ca

Second Monitor goes black after a couple of seconds

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 10 and two monitors. The second monitor comes on and then goes black after a couple of seconds. If I turn it on, leave it for awhile, turn it off and then back on, it eventually stays on. I have switched out the monitor
for a new one - which worked for awhile but now has the same problem. I have switched out the cable and the power cord and still have the problem.

I checked the drivers and it says they are up to date. I tried changing the refresh rate with no success.

 

Second Monitor goes black after a couple of seconds

LOL - this is my spare working monitor. I was using a ViewSonic monitor as my second monitor and it started having this problem. So I went and got my son's Samsung monitor and installed it because I knew it was working. Everything was fine for a couple
weeks so I figured it was a bad monitor. But then the Samsung started having the same problem. So I swapped out the cord and cable but that didn't make a difference.
