Windows 10: Why does my mouse work fine on my desk, but not a mousepad?

It sounds like a weird question with a simple answer: change mousepad.Both of my mice are the same brand, build etc. but that hasn't given me issues before. I recently retired an old mousepad and bought a new one for my pc right after this issue started; but when I use either mouse I tested both to make sure it wasn't a battery issue there are periods where the cursor will stop and the buttons won't work, as if it had turned off for a varied amount of time sometimes 1 second, sometimes 10 and sometimes in-between those two. The weirdest part is that the mice work fine on my desk, just not

wireless mouse on mousepad issue

If anyone could help with this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

My wireless mouse works on desk surface, but when I place it on my mousepad it doesn't work. It used to work on mousepad before but now all of a sudden it doesn't. I've tried ejecting and reinjecting the usb for the keyboard and mouse into another port, but didnt fix anything. I've tried taking and putting back the batteries in again, which didnt work. I've tried turning on and off the mouse switch, didnt work either. I've also tried removing the device in settings and connecting again, didnt work.

A solution or any response would be appreciated.

Mousepad not working on laptop after plugging in mouse

I plugged a mouse into my laptop and the mousepad stopped working. This isn't the first time I've used a mouse with this laptop and it's been fine every other time. The mousepad does not work even when I unplug the mouse again. I've tried updating/reinstalling the driver. I've checked that the mouse is on in settings. Please help.

I'm on windows 10 education if that makes a difference, laptop is about 3/4 years old and brand is Acer.

i've got three desks in the house, two work fine for G7 and G500, the third is too rough and eats the mouse feet off in hours.


Since i LAN too, i cant guarantee a good surface so mousepad it is.
