    Why does my new notebook always go to hibernate mode even when using psshutdown?


    I bought a new Acer Ultrabook and installed Windows 10 Professional on it. As I did with my old Notebook I wanted to make a shortcut in the start menu to bring the PC into standby mode. The shortcut uses the command "psshutdown.exe" -d -t 0, which works perfectly on my old Laptop (Windows 10 Home Version 2004). But the exact same shortcut brings my new Laptop into hibernate mode, which I don't want.

    Fast startup is deactivated on both machines.

    I also tried the command rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0 has the same behaviour (only hibernate mode) and when I am running powercfg -hibernate off before, both commands (psshutdown and rundll32) do nothing when entering.

    What can cause such a behaviour?
    Is there another way to send my computer to standby mode (not hibernate mode)?

    When I close the lid of my notebook, my upgraded version of windows 10 not sleep. Its go to hibernate mode, but It close all of my apps and software s. Why????

    Hibernate mode

    I have my laptop set to hibernate mode when I close the lid. It worked fine with Windows 8 but since the upgrade to Windows 10 the laptop has no power after closing the lid and opening it hours later. In settings, it does show that it is suppose to go
    into hibernate mode when lid is closed.

    Any suggestions?
