Windows 10: Why does my new ssd have today secound when I add files to it?

I have a ssd where I acidentaly made it my downloads file but then I changed it back but since then when ever i create files in there it always has the today bit like the downloads file

Is my SSD dead?

It happened about a month ago so I'm can't remember the exact details of how it died. I think I restarted the PC and the message was there I had no OS. Today I popped in my mirrored HD and was up running. I hocked up the SSD and restarted the PC but no sign of the SSD. Power is on (Zalman “hot swap” case has a power LED for each disk). I tried to find it in DOS but the drive is no where to be found. Any suggestions for a next step? It 1½ month past RMA but the important thing is to retrieve some of the files.

• Aside from installing a new SSD, were there any updates made to your device prior to this issue?

SSD storage keeps filling up on its own

Hi Ash,

There's a possibility that the files are just hidden. As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps below on how to display hidden files that's eating space of your SSD:

• On the Search bar, type folder, and then select
  Show hidden files and folders from the search results.
• Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives,
  and then select OK.
