Windows 10: Why does my pc ask me to select an app to open 'my name' every time i turn it on?

Every time i turn my pc on or type %appdata% into run it asks me to select an app to open 'my name', anyone got a similar issue, it's been bugging me for a while and today it's stopping me from opening %localappdata% the text thats been written over is the name of my windows profile, as i said if anyone has a similar issue and knows how to fix this i would like some help

Selecting apps to open files while using Open with on Windows 10

Let me confirm that the apps or application that appears in the list of Open with depends on the selection and there usage. Sadly, we don't have any manual option for forcing this change that makes that app appears in the Open with list.



Suggest you to try using the app for multiple time, when you make selection with the Open with to see if it automatically appears for the next time.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Can't Select Photoshop as a Default App

Hi
I've just downloaded Photoshop CC2018 and tried to make it the default photo viewer, but it does not appear in the list of apps that I can select from. Have also tried doing the same for opening .jpg files, but just the same, no Photoshop! I have rebooted the system a couple of times but it makes no difference.

Any suggestions?
