    why does my pc boot up and it just shows and black screen with the cursor?


    i boot up my pc like usual by pressing the power button. i then wait for it to load up but it's just a dark grey screen and if i move my mouse then the buffering cursor appears. any ideas?

    I     have tried following the steps of booting into safe mode, going into the control panel and uninstalling the latest windows update that caused the 'Windows black screen with cursor' error. However, now it wont even boot to the desktop, it will show 'Automatic repairs being done' and then automatically booting to safe mode. Upon checking my BIOS, the SSD drive with windows installed with it, is not even showing up in the boot list/priority. (still able to see drive in bios under System status and when checking under windows installation time.)

    So when i was installing windows 10 it said it was downloading drivers and it took 2 hours so i decided to turn of my pc and whenever i boot it up it shows a black screen with my cursor. Please help!

    I run Windows 10 and have a black screen with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. I can hit Control, Alt, Delete, and it reboots momentarily, show the Dell logo and F2 Setup anf F12 Boot Options in the lower right corner. Regardless of what key
    I hit, it goes right back to the Black screen w/ cursor. I can't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?
