Windows 10: Why does my photo change color when used as desktop background?

Dear all, can it be that Windows applies some filters or more vivid color settings to the desktop background? Can I turn this off? I have just been editing some of my own canyon pictures for wallpaper use and noticed that the photo editing software as well as the Windows Photo App displays the same picture differently from how it looks when used as a desktop background. As far as I see it is neither a display issue nor related to the graphics driver, nor have I activated any vivid color options in Windows as far as I am aware. Hi,

To change the desktop background into a solid color, see the steps below:

• Right-click on the desktop, and select Personalize.
• Under Personalization, select Background.
• On the right pane, click on the drop-down menu for Background, and then select
  Solid color.
• Choose your preferred color and it should immediately make changes.

The answer given below did not solve my problem. I followed the steps given and when I returned to my work screen it was still black, there does not seem anyway to save your changes and color selection.

In order to change the desktop background Color of the Windows by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Settings and select the top most search result.
• Select Personalization and click on Colors from the left side panel of the window.
• Choose the appropriate color you want to personalize the window and check.
