Windows 10: Why Does My RealTek LAN PCIe GbE Family Ethernet Controller Only Work When I Enable WiFi?

A few days ago I was having trouble with my Notebook PC LAN connection, a RealTek LAN PCIe GbE Family Ethernet Controller. The LAN connection was no longer possible and I exhausted every troubleshooting step you could possibly think of.First, I removed ExpressVPN from the equation by ensuring the option "STOP ALL INTERNET TRAFFIC if the VPN DISCONNECTS UNEXPECTEDLY" was unchecked and the app was disconnected from the internet. I had a similar problem and had tried all the suggestions about re-installing drivers etc. In the end I stumbled on this which worked: I disabled Green Ethernet in the advanced settings of the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Properties.

My ethernet connection stopped working on Windows 10 abruptly. Dell laptop with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. Device Manager hides the network adapter automatically. Have to click on 'view hidden devices' to see it. Device is disabled and the 'enable
device' option is deactivated. I'm able to connect to internet through WiFi. Only the ethernet cable is not being detected.
