Windows 10: why does my shift key not make uppercase letters but instead will pop up 3 different windows?

whenever i press the shift key it wont let me type letters, it will instead pull up 3 windows with corresponding numbers to them. can anyone give a reason why this might be happening?

For continous typing of numbers - press the function key twice

For capital letter or uppercase - press the shift key twice. Take note, you will not be able to move to the uppercase mode from the beginning. Type a single character first and then use the shift key twice.

 

Shift + g not working in windows 11

When I try to type Uppercase of letter 'g' using "SHIFT + g", it doesn't work whereas all the other letters works fine with uppercase using SHIFT key. Help me to fix the issue with only letter "g"

OP here, on a seperate user account and computer

The issues persists across 3 user accounts, 2 computers, windows 10 and windows 11 both of which are fully updated.

I can use the caps lock button to make uppercase letters, but the shift key only works for symbols.

It is this way across all apps when typing through my phone as well.

The Shift key DOES work if i open the app seperately from the your phone program, but the messaging app i use is not compatiable and it displays incorrectly. So the issue is only when the phone display is mirrored
