Windows 10: why does my start menu and anything with my win key not work anymore

things like screenshot short cut and clipboard arent working as well as the start menu all things like that just stopped working randomly and i dont know how to fix it i tried to fix it for like 2 days but got no where

"Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" have no "Start Menu" tab anymore??


Okay, folks. Same disfunction, different problem.

1. Below are three screen shots -- Win 10, 8.1 & 7 Note the variances in tabs and options. [Sorry if pngs too small, don't think I can enlarge]
2. My problem -- I want to disable the "recent" list option for all jump lists. E.g., Word -- don't want to see recent items when I hit the Word icon on the taskbar.
3. So, where is the disable recent lists option that has been around forever?????

Start menu is not working on Windows 10

          When you say "If I sign in under my user name I am in some earlier version", which version you are referring to?

          Did you made any recent changes to your computer prior to the issue?
          
        • 
          When you say “I cannot access the start menu and am limited to IP as a browser” Is it refers to Microsoft Edge?
          

As an initial steps, I suggest you to check for the Windows version. To do so, follow the below steps:

1) Login to your computer through user name on which it show earlier version of Windows.

2) Press Windows key + r.

3) Type winver, hit enter.
