Windows 10: Why does my verification code get sent to a random email like this one *** Email address is...

I try to log into my Microsoft account on Windows but it says the verification code was sent to a random email. And there is no another way button. And when I try to sign in the microsoft website it says microsoft account does not exist when it does and I put the right info.

Additional email addresses

You are talking about two totally different things, contacts versus predictive text input in mail client.

In most email clients, like Windows Mail, when you start typing an address in TO, CC or BCC fields, the client does not pick the addresses suggested from your contacts. Instead, it suggests addresses you have sent email earlier, or addresses of those who have sent email to you.

If I now sent you an email, and you replied to it, next time when you write an email to someone whose address starts with K, my email address would be one of the suggested to you although I am not in your contacts.

 

Personal Vault - verification email address

How do I change the verification email address when accessing my Personal Vault please?

At the moment I have the option to have a security code sent to either my mobile phone number or an old, now obsolete email address? This email address is not the normal one associated with my Microsoft 365 account. Any security codes or notifications sent
to my old email address would not be received as the address no longer exists.

How can I update my details to my existing email address?
