Windows 10: Why does my Wallpaper keeps changing to a specific picture?

I love to change my wallpaper now and then just to keep everything fresh, but something strange happened when I set this blue astronomy picture as a wallpaper. when I changed it as usual to the sunset/landscape picture as in the screenshot or any picture it keeps changing itself back to this photo. Not just this but it also changes to another one of the same picture every 5 minutes or so. I checked if this was some sort of a slideshow or something but this was a picture that actually is not on the hard drive or OneDrive which is strange. I've tried to search for corrupt files using sfc / sca

Hi, if you navigate in the Registry Editor to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers

Is the picture that wallpaper keeps reverting to, listed in the data of one of the BackgroundHistoryPathX values?

If so, right click on each of the BackgroundHistoryPath values and delete.

Then sign out/in of the account and check the wallpaper.

Win-10 themes keep changing

Thank you for providing the information.

• Did you try the steps suggested by Suvarna Govinda above, what was the result?

As I understand the issue, Themes in Windows doesn't have the options to change on its own. Only the Wallpapers in the themes can change as selected ( Picture, Solid color and Slide Show ).

I would suggest you to make us understand that if the Wallpapers are changing in Theme which you have selected.

Below are the steps you can check if it helps.

• Press Windows + I keys and select Personalization.
• Select Theme and select the Default theme.
• Select the Desktop Background below and select the Picture
  and save it and check.
